I finished the first lesson today for the Wilton Fondant & Gumpaste course and I am so excited! I knew that I was making things more complicated than I needed to, so I was glad to learn some techniques which will make my life much easier. I learned somewhere that you should use powdered sugar when rolling fondant (see my Thursday post). It works alright, but it is messy and the fondant still sticks on occasion. Today, I learned that using a roll and cut mat and Crisco works MUCH better. Yipee! I can't wait to try this out on an actual cake (next week)!
