Naturally Nora was launched in 2008 by Nora Schultz, a former Campbell Soup Company executive and mother of two. She was able to witness first hand how corporations rely on artificial ingredients and decided that her children deserved better. Now, Naturally Nora products are receiving rave reviews. Their cake mixes are made with no trans fats and no artificial ingredients. All varieties are kosher. The packaging is even made from recycled materials!
Another great thing about Naturally Nora is that the company gives back to the community.
Naturally Nora sponsors Bake for Hope, a volunteer-run organization that hosted 200 bakes sales across the country in the week leading up to Mother's Day to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure local affiliates to raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for cancer research.
I was given a bunch of products to review! Since I am always baking, I was thrilled to have so many cake, frosting, and icing mixes. I was given boxes of the following:Fantastic Fudgy Brownies

Extraordinary Vanilla , Cheerful Chocolate, Alot'a Dots, and Surprising Stars Frostings.
I was able to sample several of the mixes and frostings. My kids wanted to help, so they mixed and matched the flavors (which I thought was great). We used the cake mixes to make cupcakes on several occasions and each time, they cooked up well. The frosting was a great consistency. It spread easily when they kids wanted to decorate, but was thick enough to let me decorate using frosting bags and tips:
Every mix tried was really great! Since the directions for the cake mixes call for milk in addition to oil, the outcome is moist and delicious. I also really liked the taste of the frostings. I have been making buttercream for so long that it was a nice change to try some different flavors. Plus, the frosting took less than 5 minutes to make. Each box made plenty of frosting and perfectly iced the exact amount of cupcakes the cake mix made.I made the brownies as well, but unfortunately I had a baking mishap (completely my fault, not the brownie mix). The bits that were not charred were quite delicious, for what that is worth! I know I feel a lot better about feeding my family natural products, especially when they taste this amazing!
