Wiglington & Wenks Review and GIVEAWAY!! 5 WINNERS!! **ENDED**

My son is a huge fan of video and online games. So, when I was asked if we would be interested in reviewing a new online adventure virtual world, I said yes without hesitation! The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks (WW) is a virtual world designed to entertain, engage, and educate your child. Your child will learn about history, geography, countries, the environment, famous people, landmarks and more.

WW is one of the fastest growing virtual worlds for kids, having just launched recently during Christmas Eve 2009, but has already garnered more than 70,000 registered users from more than 150 countries. It has received rave reviews from parents and the media.

About the game and what to expect
The virtual world allows children to travel to places around the world, through time and space, meet famous historical people, play fun enriching games, make new friends, own exciting islands, build culture-inspired houses, wear all kinds of cool clothing and costumes, explore secret locations, solve ancient mysteries and become a legendary traveler.

For a video presentation, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXfrBQh070w.

Since it is a virtual world, your child has an opportunity to chat with other children who are signed on to the site. For safety and security purposes, children under the age of 13 will only have access to the Safe Chat option which has a list of pre-fabricated dialogue to help them communicate with other players.

When your child registers with WW, they will be given the opportunity to customize their avatar, choose a name, and password.  Kids can register for a free account; however, to gain access to all of the features, special areas and extra privileges, you will need to purchase a WW membership ($5.99 a month). Review: My son enjoyed creating and naming his avatar. The first time he played it, he played for quite awhile. If you have younger children (Jackson is 6), then I would recommend giving them a bit of help during their first few plays. Jack was so eager to play everything, that he would not slow down enough to read the directions. The puzzle game rules are not always obvious and will take some reading. I played some of these and found them really fun! They are the type of game that gets more challenging as you get further and they are really addicting. The child is rewarded with "rollars", the amount depends on how well they play, which can be exchanged for electronic goodies. There is even a bank which they can deposit their rollars into that earns interest!  Jackson thought the game was really fun. I liked that it was educational (something he did not even realize mixed in with the fun).  Overall, he liked the game and told me that he will likely choose to play it a couple of times a week. I really loved how many educational lessons are contained in this game. Lessons we found in just the first time playing included investing, typing, using logic, and following sequence. I would highly recommend this game!
