Ever since my pregnancy with my daughter, I have had chronic back pain due to my back and sacrum constantly slipping out of alignment. Cake decorating, while very enjoyable, can be a very painful experience for me if I am on my feet too long. So, when I read the claims about GelPro, I figured it was worth a try.
I was thrilled when GelPro provided me with a mat to review. I chose the rose colored Flora mat. The intricate design is really pretty as you can see in this picture:
Aside from my Kitchenaid Mixer, this is now my favorite item in my kitchen! I cannot believe how comfortable I feel when standing on this mat. The second I stand on it, I feel a relief of pressure from my feet and back. I decorated a cake while standing on it and felt significantly less pain than in the past! I swear if there was a way to make these into shoes or cover my entire floor with them, I would! My dog, who never used to hang out in the kitchen, takes naps on it. The mat is quite heavy and the non-stick element truly does work. I have had my mat at my kitchen sink for a few weeks and not once has it moved out of place. It easily wipes clean as well. The mat I reviewed was 20"x36" and retails for $124.95 on their website, though I found them cheaper on Amazon.
Although this may seem like a hefty price tag, it is worth every penny. I can assure you that I will never buy a cheap mat again.
