DownEast Basics sells stylish and affordable products that embrace American style. They have new arrivals frequently on their website and offer a nice selection of tees & camis, tops, sweaters, skirts, dresses, special occasion dresses, denim, swimsuits, and accessories. They even offer clothes for little girls now! The prices are truly affordable. I glanced through their website and found most products between the $20-$35 range, and nothing over $60.
I was given the opportunity to review the Sweet Nothings dress. The 95% rayon, 5% spandex dress was navy blue and came down to my knees. The fit was perfect and the size seemed to run true to my real size. The dress was super comfortable and light, perfect for the hot weather we have been experiencing. The embellishments on the top helped to dress it up a bit, but not too much so that I could wear it for an event where I was required to dress up (I wore it to a wedding rehearsal dinner) or I could wear it to work. I like the navy color because it will work well for all seasons. I am planning on not only wearing the dress this summer, but also pair it with some brown boots in the fall for an autumn look. The only problem I had with the dress was part of the flowers on the top of the dress were unraveled upon receipt in the mail. This was hardly noticeable and I was easily able to snip the loose strings. Overall, I really liked the dress and am also happy that it is machine washable, a must for my lifestyle.
The only issue I had with DownEast Basics is my observation that their products are out of stock quickly. I had ordered a different dress originally, which ended up being out of stock. This likely means that they offer new products all the time, but I am someone that often contemplates buying something from the internet for a week or more, and the quick turnover of products would be a problem for me.
