ProFlowers Review
ProFlowers is a fabulous online flower store that offers gifts for every occasion. In addition to beautiful flower assortments, they also offer gourmet gifts and plants. I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to review a bonsai plant!
You have probably heard of bonsai plants from the original Karate Kid movie. I have always been fascinated by their unique form. The word Bonsai means "Little Trees in Pots". Contrary to popular belief, the art of bonsai originated in China and was later refined in Japan. The western world has adopted this art and is not recognized an international art form.
I was amazed at the sheer number of bonsai plants ProFlowers offer. Up until this review, I thought all bonsais were the same. The Golden Gate Ficus Bonsai I received is amazing. The twisted root and strong leaves to this plant truly do make for a work of art. It was carefully shipped by ProFlowers and arrived with no leaves out of place. This is certainly more interesting than any other houseplant I have in my home. I am redecorating my computer room to reflect a more earthy theme and this plant is truly inspiration for me. I have not been the best plant owner in the past, so I need to be very careful with this mini-tree. It requires watering every 3 days, repotting every 4-5 years, and fertilization. I am so fond of my bonsai, that I feel I will be more attentive to it so it will stick around for a very long time! The plant retails for $39.99, a price I find very appropriate.
