Pen to Paper Challenge: Week 3
Pear Tree Greetings believes that paper is a form of connecting people, a great form, a real form. We know this because when we go to the mailbox, the first thing we open is the hand addressed envelope. Because inside waiting is a note card someone has taken the time to write especially for you.
As a "Pearista" for Pear Tree Greetings, I accepted a challenge to write a hand written note once a week for four weeks. They provided me with 8 note cards, 4 for me and an additional 4 for the recipients to encourage them to write me back.
Week 3: My husband and I are in Vegas this week without our children. This is the first time the two of us have been away from them at the same time and it is as hard on us as it is on them! I hand wrote a note to them from me and their father and dropped it in the mail before we left. I thought getting mail from us at their grandparent's house would be a nice surprise. I included two extra note cards and encouraged them both to write us a letter that they can give us when we return on Friday. How did writing this make me feel? Extremely sad and anxious! I have traveled without my family quite frequently for work, but I always took comfort knowing my husband was home with them. I know they will do fine, but writing the note made leaving them more real and scary!
Week 2 update: If you read my post last week, then you know that my daughter got into the challenge and mailed a letter to my friend's daughter. We enclosed a return card and she was THRILLED when they wrote her back. She felt so special and immediately asked if she could write them another letter!
I was provided with note cards to allow me to participate in this challenge. Pearistas who participate in this challenge are given the opportunity to win a $50 store credit. No other compensation was received and the views expressed here are my own.
