Throw an Eco Friendly Party with Green Party Goods

As you may have noticed during the month of July, I love to throw birthday parties. I have been trying to find more and more ways to throw environmentally friendly bashes, which is why I love Green Party Goods. The company sells green party supplies, eco-friendly, non-toxic toys and gifts from recycled, biodegradable, organic, eco-friendly, forest friendly, or reusable items.

I have had the pleasure of reviewing their eco-friendly cupcake stand in the past, and was very excited to sample some more of their products. I was given a set of Camouflage Baking Moulds and Cupcake Liners.

The biodegradable Baking Moulds come in packs of three and are made from heavy paper. They are freestanding, so you do not need to bake with a pan.  The inside of the pan is coated which  makes the baked good release easily.  Even the package is made from recycled material.  They retail for $9 for a set of three.

The Cupcake Liners are sold 20 to a box and retail for $6.50. As you can see from the picture above, they come nicely packaged and there was a recipe on the bottom. They are made from cellulose and are biodegradable.

I decided to make banana bread with the baking moulds. The directions on the moulds stated that they are meant to be used for cakes, so I was a bit worried about how they would stand up to rising bread. I made two loaves, one came out fine and the other did not. One of the moulds bubbled up on the inside and created a large crater on the bread. It was bizarre, especially since the other one turned out fine. I think it was because I made bread and it probably would have worked out fine if I would have made a small cake instead. I later read the website description and realized that the mold withstands heat up to 400 degrees and I baked at 450. Oops! The look of the bread in the mould was adorable and would make a great gift. Next time, I will definitely make a cake!

Here is a picture of the inside of the mold that bubbled:

As you can see, one loaf turned out great, while the other had a crater:

The Cupcake Liners worked great. I made some muffins and the final result was fantastic. There were no problems with the muffins sticking to the liners and they maintained their shape well:

Aside from my failure to read directions, my experience with Green Party Goods was great again. I appreciate the effort they are making to create attractive party and baking products that are environmentally friendly. Their customer service is also great and I think their prices are reasonable given the high quality of their products.
