The DVD is not a workout video, but rather an instructional video. The incredibly ripped instructors simply show you how a particular exercise is done at different levels, from beginner to advanced. After learning the appropriate way to do the exercises, you can then go on your own and create your own personalized regime. There is no talking, simply the name of the exercise and the level followed by a short demonstration of how to properly complete the exercise. In addition to exercise demonstrations, there is education on nutrition and diet, the benefits of stretching and the importance of using all of these elements together. The DVD was a bit like a living book. It had all the elements of a workout manual, with the added bonus of actually seeing how the exercise is completed rather than trying to figure it out from illustrations/pictures.
I tried some of the exercises on the DVD and they were tough. I am definitely a beginner. I have back and hip problems and found that they exercises were a bit too much for me, but these would be really great for people without medical problems. It is obvious that the workouts will not only build muscle, but also burn some serious calories. Many of the exercises to require bars and they demonstrated many of the exercises at an outdoor park, so you may find that you are unable to do many of these exercises from the comfort of your living room.
