Foodie Friday: Spike Seasoning Review and GIVEAWAY! (3 WINNERS) **ENDED**

Sponsored post* Affiliate links
You probably would not guess it because I love to bake, but I HATE to cook. I am really no good at it. It always amazes me when people can throw a bunch of spices in with some meats and veggies and make something delectable.  If you are one of those people, or at least someone who attempts to follow a recipe that contains spices, then I would recommend checking out Spike’s line of natural seasonings that are made without preservatives and have zero calories per serving! What a great addition to your holiday meals!! Here is a run-down on their seasonings:

Spike Original Magic!
Spike Brand Gourmet, All Purpose All Natural Seasoning, Original Magic! 3 oz (85 g)Ingredients: Salt crystals (earth and sea), nutritional yeast, hydrolyzed soy protein (NO ADDED MSG), mellow toasted onion, onion powder, orange powder, soy granules, celery leaf powder, celery root powder, garlic powder, dill, kelp, Indian curry, horseradish, ripe white pepper, orange and lemon peel, summer savory, mustard flour, sweet green and red bell peppers, parsley flakes, tarragon, rosehips, safflower, mushroom powder, parsley powder, spinach powder, tomato powder, sweet paprika, celery seed ground, cayenne pepper, plus oregano, sweet basil, marjoram, rosemary and thyme.

This is a really great all-purpose seasoning. My husband, who is more comfortable with experimenting with seasonings used this with chicken breast and the Spike seasoning really added to the flavor of the chicken. It was much better than a plain breast and we now have this seasoning in the front of our spice cabinet for easy access!

Spike Salt-Free Magic!
Ingredients: Defatted soy, onion, orange crystals, nutritional yeast, garlic, celery, dill, horseradish, lemon peel, mustard, orange peel, parsley, white pepper, turmeric, green and red bell peppers, rosehips, summer savory, mushroom, safflower, coriander, fenugreek, basil, marjoram, oregano, thyme, tarragon, cumin, ginger, cayenne pepper, cloves, spinach, rosemary, cinnamon, paprika and tomato.

Similar to the Original Magic, the salt-free seasoning is all-purpose and is a healthier option for those who are avoiding adding salt to their foods.

Spike Hot ‘N Spicy Magic!
Ingredients: Salt crystals (earth and sea), cayenne pepper, hydrolyzed soy protein (NO ADDED MSG), garlic, soy granules, onion, black pepper, chili peppers, paprika, chili powder (chili pepper, cumin, oregano, garlic, salt), nutritional yeast, celery, lemon and orange peels, white pepper, red and green bell peppers, orange powder, dill seed, kelp, curry powder, horseradish, mustard, parsley flakes, rosehips, savory, mushroom, safflower, rosemary, basil, marjoram, thyme, oregano, tarragon, spinach powder and tomato powder.

I am not a “hot ‘n spicy” kind of girl so I left this one to my husband to sample. He makes food fairly bland for the kids and I and will then add spicier ingredients later.  He has not had the opportunity to use it yet, but has plans to add it to some of his chili to give it the zing he likes.

Spike Vegit Magic!
Modern Products Spike Vegit Magic ( 1x2 OZ)Ingredients: Nutritional yeast, kelp, hydrolyzed soy protein (NO ADDED MSG), toasted onion, powdered dill seed, white pepper, celery, parsley flakes, beet root powder, mushroom powder, orange & lemon peel, papain enzyme, plus a delightful herbal bouquet of the best oregano, sweet basil, marjoram, rosemary and thyme.

This product can be added to an assortment of products. I sampled mine on some veggies and it tasted really good. It really helped transform the normally "blah" veggies into a side that was tastier than the main dish!

Spike Vege-Sal Magic!
Ingredients: Salt crystals (earth and sea), vegetable mixture (alfalfa, celery, onion, carrot, parsley, spinach, kelp, beet root, lettuce), soy sauce (water, wheat, soybeans, salt), hydrolyzed soy protein (NO ADDED MSG), molasses and dill seed.

I sprinkled a little bit of this on a baked potato and WOW...it was great!

Spike Garlic Magic!
Ingredients: 100% pure, natural granular garlic.

This was my absolute favorite of the seasonings. I really love garlic and add it to most of my veggies and other foods whenever I have the chance. The garlic flavor was pronounced and I liked that it was pure garlic rather than garlic-salt so I did not have to feel guilty about adding a lot to my foods.  My hubby used it in his mashed potato preparations and they turned out to be

The following two products are also available, though I have not yet had the opportunity to try them out:
Spike Onion Magic!
Ingredients: Toasted onion, hydrolyzed soy protein (NO ADDED MSG), white onion powder, non-fat dry milk, basil, yeast, parsley powder, celery powder, spinach powder, paprika, tomato powder, powdered celery seed, garlic and cayenne pepper.

Spike Tenderizer Magic!
Ingredients: Salt crystals (earth and sea), hydrolyzed soy protein (NO ADDED MSG), alfalfa powder, celery leaf and stalk powder, onion powder, carrot powder, parsley powder, spinach powder, toasted onion powder, soy sauce (water, wheat, soybeans, salt), papain, kelp, basil, marjoram, oregano, thyme, rosemary, molasses, beet root powder, dill and lettuce powder.

Buy it here: You can find Spike in local grocers and the seasonings are also available from Amazon.

Win it here: Three (3) lucky Cake Mom readers are going to win the same set of Spike Seasonings featured in this post!!

I would be most eager to try the Spike Salt-Free Magic!
I think it would put the "ta-da" in my Salads!
I love to season my salads but often reach for a salt free.
Spike's Salt-Free Magic sounds yummy!
