I can't get enough of this bag! It is fabulous. The bag is obviously designed by people who travel because everything that a traveler would need is included in the design of this bag.  It is big enough that I can fit everything I need in it for a few day trip, yet small enough that I can carry it on my back if I wanted. Since I have a lot of back problems, I will probably opt to wheel the bag.  Wheeling it is not problem. It is well designed to move smoothly I also love the small detachable pack which will come in handy during our family vacation this year. The day pack can be removed in seconds and then used as an alternative to a purse when spending the day walking around a theme park or spending a day sightseeing!


The organization compartments will make it easy to store electronics, IDs, keys and more.

The inside of the main compartment is generously sized and will easily fit a couple of family member's clothes for a trip. Plus, the hold-down straps will help keep them in place.






The straps on the back are padded and wide so there will not be a lot of stress on your shoulders. Plus, the optional waist belt can be used for additional support and security.

I have nothing but good things to say about this bag. My husband is really excited about it too (Father's Day hint, ladies!). I am also happy with the look of the bag. It is built tough and is meant to last. On a scale on 1-10, it is definitely a 10 and has my full endorsement.

I made this cake for a Sunday Memorial Day picnic. The cake was really delicious! Lucky Leaf has become my favorite pie filling because they do not have an artificial taste to them like many other brands have. The combo of all the fruit toppings was a real treat. I prefer lighter and fruitier desserts in the summer time so this dessert was a great way to kick off the summer season.

Review: My husband was pretty apprehensive about using this product. He does not like to change routines and was convinced that it would produce a razor burn. I thought his skin felt much smoother than normal, but he said he would rather stick with the old fashion shaving cream stating that he likes to shave the cream off because this way he knows that he did not miss any spots. Since I could not stand the thought of the oil going to waste, I decided to see if it would work well on my legs. And it did! My legs felt so much more moisturized than normal and the shave was great. I have sensitive skin and was happy that I had no reaction at all to this oil. 

Like it or not, nicks still happen. So, when they do the Pacific Shaving Company Nick Stick is there to quickly stop the bleeding. It dries clear and leaves no chalky residue. It is a roll-on application and has a self-sterilizing applicator. Plus, the vitamin A, E, and aloe promote healing and moisturizing the skin!

Review:  Hubby did not nick himself the entire two months we had this product (he does not shave that often). I, however, had a small nick from shaving my legs. I really liked this Nick Stick. I bleed so easily and the bleeding tends to last forever. I liked how easily this rolled on and the bleeding stopped in a fraction of the time it would have taken if I was using little wads of toilet paper. Plus, I really liked the moisturizing effect and it seemed to prevent an unsightly larger-than-life scab from forming.

Overall, I really liked these products. I would definitely say that it is worth getting these for your hubby or father for father's day because if they don't like them, you probably will!

Foodie Friday: Naturally Nora Review and GIVEAWAY!! **ENDED**

Naturally Nora was launched in 2008 by Nora Schultz, a former Campbell Soup Company executive and mother of two. She was able to witness first hand how corporations rely on artificial ingredients and decided that her children deserved better. Now, Naturally Nora products are receiving rave reviews. Their cake mixes are made with no trans fats and no artificial ingredients. All varieties are kosher. The packaging is even made from recycled materials!

I was given a bunch of products to review! Since I am always baking, I was thrilled to have so many cake, frosting, and icing mixes. I was given boxes of the following:
Fantastic Fudgy Brownies
Sunny Yellow, Alot'a Dots, Surprise Stars, and Cheerful Chocolate Cake Mixes
Extraordinary Vanilla , Cheerful Chocolate, Alot'a Dots, and Surprising Stars Frostings.

I was able to sample several of the mixes and frostings. My kids wanted to help, so they mixed and matched the flavors (which I thought was great). We used the cake mixes to make cupcakes on several occasions and each time, they cooked up well. The frosting was a great consistency. It spread easily when they kids wanted to decorate, but was thick enough to let me decorate using frosting bags and tips:

Every mix tried was really great! Since the directions for the cake mixes call for milk in addition to oil, the outcome is moist and delicious. I also really liked the taste of the frostings. I have been making buttercream for so long that it was a nice change to try some different flavors. Plus, the frosting took less than 5 minutes to make. Each box made plenty of frosting and perfectly iced the exact amount of cupcakes the cake mix made.

I made the brownies as well, but unfortunately I had a baking mishap (completely my fault, not the brownie mix). The bits that were not charred were quite delicious, for what that is worth!  You can read more about this, in my Mother's Day post and also see the Naturally Nora's cupcakes that my children made for their grandmothers!

I know I feel a lot better about feeding my family natural products, especially when they taste this amazing!

Technique/Terminology Thursday: Frozen Buttercream Transfer

Here is a really cool technique that you can use to copy images to a cake. This was my very first time using this technique. Although it did not come out perfect, I was very happy with the result. My husband really likes whipped cream frosting which was a little more difficult to work with than buttercream (the whipped frosting was only used to ice the cake, not for the transfer image).

1. Find an image that you want to transfer. You can Google the image and then select and print the one you want. I chose a 1972 Chevelle for my husband and brother-in-law's cake because they both have owned them. Print it out and make sure it is the right size you want as you will be tracing it. Keep in mind, that the image will be reversed when on the cake so stay away from lettering unless you opt to print in mirror image from your computer.

2. Place the image on a hard surface (I used a cookie sheet). Take a piece of wax or parchment paper over top.

3. Fill a bag with a colored icing (I used black) and tip 1. Outline the image completely.

 4. Fill in the rest of the image with the preferred colors. I used tip 2 to achieve this. You have to make sure that the frosting is even in height across the image.







Next, place the image still taped on the hard surface in the freezer for an hour or more. Ice your cake. When the hour is up. Take the image out, flip the parchment paper over on the cake and then quickly but carefully peel the paper back, leaving the image on the cake. If you need to alter the image in any way, you will need to wait about 20 minutes after transferring the image so that the buttercream is room temperature. Decorate the rest of the cake as you desire and you are done! I cannot wait to try this technique again and again and I assume that using a buttercream icing on the actual cake will produce a better result (you can see near the rear of the car how the image and whipped topping did not meet neatly).

I like that they offer bigger sizes as well, up to 3X. Most of the men in my family are larger, and sometimes it can be difficult to find shirts for them. The quality is great and the shipping was speedy. I would definitely recommend this company!

Product Review Monday: ThinkGeek Origami Colander + GIVEAWAY!! **ENDED**

I do not have a lot of cupboard room in my kitchen and my pots and pans are a mess. Picnic season is almost here! If you are like me, you probably love the great food and great company, but hate all the clean up. Flings Bins allows you to spend less time worrying about garbage and more time enjoying your BBQ!  Flings are portable, set up in a snap, and help signal where trash and recycling should be disposed. I was given the opportunity to review two bins. I chose the birthday and recycling Flings. The set up was a cinch. The bin snapped right into place without issue. The size if perfect for a party and I really like that there is a recycling bin option. I believe in recycling and it was always so annoying to have to go through the garbage after a get-together to pull out the cans and put them in the right bag. I also really like that they are decorative. They will look much better than a big black plastic bag! The time these will save makes the price ($3.99 a bin) well worth it!

I Love Dogs Week: Muddy Puppys Review

Muddy Puppys is a Myrtle Beach doggy boutique and salon. In addition to pampering your pooch, they offer a great selection of gourmet and ALL NATURAL treats.

Not only did my dogs love these treats, I loved the adorable look of these snacks! They looked really delicious. In fact, my son was very disappointed when he saw the cookies and then realized they were dog treats! Each treat was made with care and they came beautifully packaged.

Both Hoss and Butch gobbled up the peanut butter bone, fresh mint dog cookies and ginger mint dog cookies we were sent to review. I loved that they were all natural and the dogs seemed to love how they tasted. The texture was nice as well. They were not too hard, so my older dog could still enjoy them.


Muddy Puppys also offers some great gift packages and decorative items. This company is definitely for the pet owners who love to spoil their dogs!
