The set arrived in a nice cotton netting bag, perfect for travel! Since I do a lot of traveling, and am not always a fan of the amenities provided by hotels, I was excited to give these products a try.

The smell of all the products together was a bit overwhelming and bothered my allergies. Separately, they were fine which is how I used them. I liked the shampoo a lot. It smelled great and my hair was really smooth and shiny.  The hair and scalp rinse worked well also, but I was not a huge fan of the scent which reminded me of a woodsy smell rather than floral. Used together, my hair looked fantastic, though!  The body wash was really thick, in fact it was difficult to get out of the bottle. It worked well, however, and easily rinsed off without evidence of a residue left on my skin. The soap was also nice, and my skin felt moisturized after using it. Lip balms are a must have for me, and this one was great. It really moisturized my lips and felt great. The lotion's scent was my favorite of all of them, worked great, and was a perfect size for my purse.

Everything from the scent to the packaging was appealing to my daughter. The shampoo and conditioners are 99.6% natural and sweetly scented. The shampoo's fragrance is all natural and has a citrus scent to it. The conditioner is made with essential oils and the smell reminds me of Smarties candies. My daughter absolutely loved the smells. For the first week she used these she made everyone smell her "orange and candy" scented hair. Both products worked well. She has very long hair which tends to dry out and get easily tangled. Her hair was very shiny after use and easy to comb through. I also liked the pump on the bottles so my daughter could dispense the product without overdoing it. Even with my daughter's super long hair, we found that a very small amount of shampoo and conditioner went a long way, so each bottle should last you quite awhile.  Each of the products retails for $13.00.

BrytonPick Review

BrytonPick is a new and innovative product that allows you to keep your teeth clean and healthy in a more convenient and easy to use way.

So, what is BrytonPick? It is a string-free, portable and reusable dental space cleaner that looks like a boomerang. The flexible edges are as thin as dental floss. It is more convenient and portable than regular dental floss. It is reusable for up to 30 uses (which means it is more environmentally friendly!). The stainless steel edges are also germ resistant. In addition, it comes with a small carry-pouch that easily fits into your purse or wallet.


I was given to BrytonPicks to review and I really liked the product. The feel of the steel edges was a little strange at first, but it worked great. I love how portable it is. I can discreetly keep one in my purse and use it whenever necessary. The cost for a 3-pack ($5.99) is very reasonable considering this is a three month supply (assuming you floss daily like you are supposed to).

To use the BrytonPick, you simply need to smile with your mouth open, gently insert the metal end between teeth and slide between teeth. The product can even be used by those with braces. I liked the ability to get to the hard to reach places in your mouth and I found it much easier to use than standard floss.  If you want to know more, you can view a video demonstration or check out their website for more details.

Tropical Traditions Deodorant Review and GIVEAWAY!! **ENDED**

To kick off my 3 week Eco Event, I am going to start by featuring one of my favorite companies, Tropical Traditions! Their products are natural and great for the environment! 

Tropical Traditions Aluminum-Free Deodorants are free from chemicals and made from with their famous Virgin Coconut Oil as a base. They are friendly for the environment and also friendly for your body. Since your underarms are one of the most absorbent areas of your body, you want to make sure you are not absorbing harmful chemicals into your body! The deodorants come in three scents: classic, lavender, and frankincense.

Review: I have always used stick deodorant in the past, so the roll-on deodorant was a new experience for me. I really liked these deodorants. They were easy to apply, left no white residue on my underarms or clothes, and worked well. They seemed continue working a few hours longer than the stick deodorant I had been using, which was great.

The lavender scented deodorant is my favorite. It smells like lavender, but is not too overwhelming so that others around me could smell it. If they gave me a hug or came very close, they may catch a whiff; however, they would probably mistake it for my shampoo or body spray because it does not have a typical deodorant smell.

The classic scent was a little less potent, but still smelled great (the actual ingredients are rosewood, geranium, cedarwood, and patchouli). The scent is difficult to describe but is gender neutral and could be used by men or women.

The frankincense had more of a musky smell which was much more masculine, so this one went to my hubby. 

The deodorants are great, but the price tag is a bit high for me. Regular retail price is $13.95 ,but they are on sale for B1G1F until 8/29. I would recommend the deodorants, but would also recommend getting them while they are on sale or waiting for another one to roll around (sorry for the "roll" pun).

Review
First and foremost, I must say that I love the bottle. I took some bottles with me on a business trip and I could not believe how many people at the conference were fascinated by the bottle. It got many questions about what I was drinking and people were intrigued. The bottles were small enough that they could easily fit into my bag and the 8 oz size was a perfect morning refreshment. The taste of the juice was similar to cranberry juice or a tart grape juice. There is a nice mixture or tartness and sweetness and I really enjoyed the taste. I also liked the fact that there are no additives. This is my first experience with pomegranate juice and  I am hooked. They have a variety of other juices that blend the pomegranate with other fruits and I cannot wait to give them a try.

Delta Faucet Review

Delta Faucet is one of the better known companies in the world of faucets, and for good reason. Their styles are constantly updating to match current design trends, they are committed to finding new and innovative technology for their products and they believe in providing environmentally safe options! I was pretty amazed by the options available and can see why their motto is, "A better way to live with water".

If you are looking for a new bathroom or kitchen faucet, but don't know where to start looking then you have to check out the Delta Faucet website. They have a tool that will allow you to narrow down your preferences so they can present the faucets that will best meet your needs. This was a big time saver for me when it was time to choose a faucet to review.

I was so happy when I was given the opportunity to review a new faucet. I ultimately decided on the Addison Two Handle Centerset Lavatory Faucet.  This faucet retails for $205.85 and comes in a variety of finishes.The model is considered water efficient and is ADA compliant.

The sink was fine, but a little boring. We have a really disgusting faucet on our basement sink, so the thought was to put this one in the basement and the nice new Delta one in our main bathroom.

Review:
My husband installed the faucet. He has installed many before and said that this one was no more difficult than any others (but did mention that they are all a pain to install). If you are not very mechanical, then you can check out the Delta Faucet  video tutorials available on YouTube. 

I really love the look of the new faucet. The long neck allows you more room to wash up. The water flows from it perfectly, and the water pressure is much better on this than the one we had prior.  My husband commented on how nice it was to have water pressure that would clean the shaving cream off his razor (before he would have to fill the sink with water and submerge the razor to get it clean). The handles worked great at well and my children have no problem turning the water on or off. Sometimes our old faucet handles would stick a bit leaving the water dripping, wasting money, so I am happy that they are easily able to shut this off. It really gives the sink a whole new and updated look and I am so happy with it. I am sure that we have saved water already thanks to the features on this faucet!

Pen to Paper Challenge: Week 2

Pear Tree Greetings believes that paper is a form of connecting people, a great form, a real form. We know this because when we go to the mailbox, the first thing we open is the hand addressed envelope. Because inside waiting is a note card someone has taken the time to write especially for you. 

As a "Pearista" for Pear Tree Greetings, I accepted a challenge to write a hand written note once a week for four weeks. They provided me with 8 note cards, 4 for me and an additional 4 for the recipients to encourage them to write me back.

Week 2: My daughter, Bella, grew extremely interested in the concept of hand written cards when she saw me writing my note last week. She asked if she could write a note, so I thought why not! She decided to write a note to her two friends (my friend's daughters). She took the note writing very seriously and also drew a picture of the three of them! She was very proud of her card and could not wait to send it in the mail. We enclosed a return note card and I asked that they send her a note back. She cannot wait to see if they will!

HearthSong Review and GIVEAWAY!! **ENDED**

After a nice long summer of lazing around, playing outside, and staying up late, it is almost time for my kids to go to school. In order to get them back into school-mode, I have been trying to incorporate some fun, yet educational, activities into their last few days of summer. We were lucky enough to choose two kits to review and my kids were thrilled.

Bella is very creative and into story-telling, so she was very  excited to have the opportunity to review the Pop-Up Book Set.  The kit comes with two pop-up books (one large and one small), 31 die cut pieces in various shapes, 2 sticker sheets, 8 markers, and 2 pairs of googly eyes.

She took her "assignment" very serious. She spent time thinking about what the story should be, finding coordinating stickers, and illustrating her book. The result was her very first book, "The Monkey and the Friends Love Each Other". The book is absolutely adorable and something I know I will keep forever and ever. She is also very proud of it and insisted on calling her grandparents to tell them about her book once she was done. The stickers that were included really helped spark some creativity and helped lead the direction of her story. This really is a fabulous kit and well worth the $19.98 price tag. It also makes a great keepsake and I know she will get a kick out of this when she sees it as an adult!

Jack chose to review the Clean Water Science Kit. From the moment he saw the kit online, he could not wait to get it in the mail. Later the same day he saw the kit online, he told me, "I think I am going to be really good at science in school". It was so nice to hear him say something other than "I love video games!"  The kit comes with everything (except for the water and dirt) you will need to build your own water filtration system to allow your child to see how filthy water can be cleaned and reused.

Jack and my husband spent some quality father-son time (and as you can see, the dog joined in) together on this one. Jack had a blast putting all the pieces together, going outside to collect dirt to make muddy water, and then seeing his "invention" (as he called it) clean water right before his eyes. It was so great to see the excitement on his face when he repeated the experiment for me later. This kit was fantastic and anything that gets my son excited about a school subject gets an A+ in my book! Plus, the kit is very reasonably priced at only $11.98!

Tatutina Recipe Box Review

Tatutina's motto is to create happy painted gifts for a happy lifestyle. Believe me, their products scream happiness! Their wide variety of products are whimsically painted with bright and catchy colors. When I look at them, the only word that comes to mind is "fun".  The small business is run by a mother-daughter team who love producing creative and unique products for children and adults. Their designs are original and all items meet the requirements of the American Society for Testing Materials. Their products use certified, non-toxic, lead-free paints.

I was given the opportunity to review a recipe box.  I have been collecting more and more cake, filling, and frosting recipes and I really needed an attractive recipe box to hold them. The one I received was the Black and White Mod Circles Recipe Box. The box was nicely constructed and the painting was flawless. The hinges also worked great. Inside the box were recipe dividers which were just as adorable as the box itself. There were dividers for the following: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts, and misc. The dimensions of the box are 7.5"x5"x5". I find the size to be perfect. The recipe boxes retail for $25 and there is an option to personalize them for an extra $5 when you purchase from their site. What a great gift idea!

My experience with Tatutina was great. If all of their products are constructed as nicely as the recipe box I received, and I am sure they are, then you can shop with confidence. I will definitely have to make room on my countertops for this box as I cannot possibly imagine hiding it away in a cupboard!

I am a very frugal person. Since we are a single income family, I do my best to save money to include using coupons. However, I have had two major problems with coupon usage over the past several years:

Review: I LOVE MY SAVVYCENTS!!!! I have seriously saved so much money already! No more forgetting coupons! It is so handy to have my money, cards, and coupons all in one place. The wallet truly is fashionable (I received the black one).The size is perfect and I love that it zips so there is no problem with coupons or money falling out. The price is also great. The only thing I would have liked to be different is more tabs on the filing system so that I could label more coupon slots.

It is almost fall, which means it is almost time for pumpkin pies, spice cakes, and candy apples! I LOVE FALL SWEETS!!!! Pamela's Products Review

Pamela's Products is a company dedicated to creating delicious foods which are free from wheat and gluten. Just recently, they have announced the availability of single-serving packs of their Chocolate Brownie Mix and Baking & Pancake Mix.  Perfect timing for back-to-school, these grab n' go mixes make a stack of four pancakes or one microwave brownie in about one minute! Complete with simple, easy-to-follow directions, Pamela's Products created these with the busy family in mind.  I have had the opportunity to work with Pamela's Products in the past and was very excited to hear about this new products! You can read my previous review here.

I was given two mixes to try. The microwaveable Chocolate Brownie Mix came in a single serving bag. It was simple and quick to make. I had to mix the bag contents with 2 TBSP oil and 2 TBSP water and microwave for 60 seconds. After cooling for 5 minutes, my daughter was able to enjoy a nice dessert. I have come to expect a high quality taste from Pamela's Products based on my past review with them, and this product did not disappoint. It was rich and delicious and tasted as though it was baked, not microwaved. Although this was one serving size, the brownie was quite big and it took Bella two sittings to eat it all. She gave it a big thumbs up and I agree.

The second mix I tried was the Baking & Pancake Mix. Each packet makes 4 pancakes when you add one egg, 1/2 cup water, and 2 tsp oil.  These pancakes were absolutely delicious! You would never suspect they were gluten or wheat free as they tasted even better than the normal mix we have sitting in our cupboard. Every one of us in the family gave this mix thumbs up!

Back to School Labeling with Gloria's Stickers: Review and GIVEAWAY!! **ENDED**

My children's school requires that we label everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING they take to school. From book bags to individual crayons, labeling their supplies is one of my least favorite school activities! This is why I am so glad that I found Gloria. Gloria owns the Etsy shop Gloria's Stickers and also has an Ebay store, Gloria's Precious Kids Garden.

Gloria sells a bunch of great personalized stickers in a variety of themes that will please every child. Her stickers are bright and fun and contain some of the most well known pop-culture characters.

I was given two sets of labels to review. My daughter chose the Toy Story labels and my son chose Pokemon. The stickers were well made, each one clearly displaying the characters while still highlighting my children's names. The stickers were glossy so they will resist easy wear and tear and water. They were quite small, which is exactly what I needed to label all the small school supplies. The adhesive was also great. They stuck well to anything made of plastic or paper, but I would not recommend for fabrics as my daughter's quickly fell off when applied to the outside of her backpack. The prices for these customized stickers is also great, $3.99 a set. Set quantities vary depending on size of stickers.
