The assessment was a quite thought provoking. You were given a long list of situations and had to rank them each on a scale from worst to best scenario or situation. I have a tendency to overanalyze, so I did not find it easy to assign some of the rankings. It took about 20 minutes for me to complete it and a few days later I received my profile. The profile contains a bubble graph which helps to give you an illustration for your clarity in each of the thinking types. I found the bubble graph too difficult to follow so I was glad to have a general description of each of the elements. So, what did I learn from the process?
Empathy – My score indicated that I mildly discount the importance of others’ feelings while I have an excellent ability to understand those feelings and distinguish the difference between individuals. I have the ability to read people intuitively but I may miss the importance of addressing feelings first with others.
Practical Thinking - My score indicates that I have excellent clarity with a strong optimism in my practical, comparative, real world thinking. I see the world as changing and chaotic and have an ability to adapt, flex and respond at the spur of the moment. Because of my optimism and clear thinking, I have a hard time with people who raise objections or are looking at the downside of taking actions.
Structured Thinking – My score seemed to contradict what was stated previously. Here, it states that I have a natural skepticism regarding the world around me as being defined with fixed, unchanging, absolute terms.
Self-esteem – The rest of the profiles spoke specifically about my results. This one was so general about the effects of self-esteem issues that I was not even sure what my exact results were. I think it was saying that I have a tendency to discount my personal importance.
Practical Self – The results indicated that I have a sense that what I am doing is not enough. In truth, sometimes I feel this way sometimes I do not.
Self- Direction – According to the profile, I have a clear definition of who I should be and act. Although my dedication can be positive, I can have difficulty changing directions if I have already committed myself to a certain action.
I think there was a lot of truth to the profile. Completing the assessment and reviewing the profile does remind me that I need to work on empathizing more with other’s feelings and remind myself of the accomplishments that I have made in my life. This is a really neat assessment tool for someone who needs a little enlightenment into their life and would like some guidance on how to move forward with their goals.
