New Year's Resolution Idea: Start Family Game Night!
My family and I are working to turn off the TV more and pull out more card and board games in 2011. So, I was thrilled when I was given Ratuki to review. The new Ratuki card game involves racing to complete runs of fives with numbered cards represented by Roman numerals, numbers, words, tick marks, and dice. Players try to be the first to slam down their cards and collect the most cards in the group.
Each player is given one deck of the same colored cards and there are enough decks for up to 5 people to play. I must say that this is one of the funnest games we have played in a really long time. The racing action really got the family's competitive juices flowing. My son is 7 and could easily play it. My 5 year old daughter even got the hang of it, but had a bit of trouble with the written versions of the words. We have played this game almost every single day since receiving it to review 2 weeks ago. We love it!!
Pros: Quick play, for 2-5 players, enjoyable for children and adults, super fun!!
Cons: The only con was that some of the cards were cut incorrectly and the colors from some cards ended up on other cards (see below)
Minor "con" aside, this game is one of my favorites and is well deserving of the Cake Mom Seal of Approval!
Buy it here: The Ratuki game will be hitting shelves soon.
