Parisi Artisan Coffee was created in 2006 in Kansas City as a result of the owners' longstanding passion for Italian espresso. The company works with coffee ban farmers from around the world to import high quality green Arabica coffees. The company supports Fair Trade and Organic coffee farms. Organic coffees are grown with no chemical fertilizers and meet organic sustainability standards. In four short years the company has grown and now produces many varieties of the coffee which are available in area grocery stores, popular with some restaurants, and available through the internet.
I was also given Organic Bolivia coffee to sample. This is another medium-dark brew that has a sweet taste to it thanks to milk chocolate and honeysuckle ingredients. Following grinding, this coffee can also be made in a home brewer, french press or espresso machine. This particular product is USDA certified organic and also carries the Eco World Family Farm designation, an artisan standard which signifies that the production represents artisan or traditional small family farm practices. The designation also recognizes companies for being both socially and environmentally beneficial. This coffee was my husband's favorite. He is very picky about his coffee and is often disappointed when we go to restaurants by the flavor of their coffees. Impressing him with the taste speaks volumes and I too loved the bold and delicious flavor.
This is the first time I have made fresh ground coffee and after experiencing the fabulous taste of Parisi, I am not sure I can go back to the ground coffee again!
