Foodie Friday: Balance Bar Review

Nutrition and energy bars are a staple in our house in the summer. Since we are always on the go, I almost always have a few bars in my purse. Balance Bars, one of America's original nutrition/energy bar leaders, has introduced a Café flavor line featuring two new flavors: Chocolate Almond Biscotti and Cinnamon Bun.

The flavors were created to compliment your morning and afternoon coffee and tea. The new Café' flavors are all-natural and contain 14g of protein, 200 calories, 23 vitamins and minerals, and they are also an excellent source of antioxidants and vitamin D. They follow the same formula other Balance Bars: 40% of the calories come from healthy carbs, 30% from protein, and 30% from dietary fat.  They come in 1.76 oz single-serve bars and are certified Kosher.

Review:  I received both flavors of the new Café line. The Chocolate Almond Biscotti has a crunchy center drizzled with chocolate and topped with almonds. These were beyond delicious. These are definitely a treat. The Cinnamon Bun contains crunchy protein crisps with a cinnamon topping.  These were, in one word, TASTY! The crunchy topping tasted more like a treat than a healthy energy bar.  Both bars satisfied my sweet tooth while giving me some energy and filling me up for hours.  If you typically shy away from energy bars because of the artificial taste, then I would definitely recommend you give these a try!

Buy it here: The new Café' Balance Bars can be found at retail locations wherever Balance Bars are sold.  Suggested retail price is $1.49 per bar.
