Summer Survival Kit Review and GIVEAWAY!! (5 Winners) **ENDED**

With every season comes unique medical concerns, bugs, and preventative measures. Tec Labs has put together a Summer Survival Kit features some products parents should have on hand this season. Here are the products contained in the kit:

Tecnu Original Outdoor Skin Cleanser - Product which removes the rash causing oil, urushiol, from poison ivy, oak, and sumac. You can use Tecnu in two ways. When you know you've been around the plants you can remove the oil to help prevent a rash, or if you have the rash you can remove the oil to keep the rash from spreading.  Retails for $6.99 (4 oz), $12.99 (12 oz), and $21.99 (32 oz).

StaphAseptic First Aid Antiseptic/Pain Relieving Gel - Relieves pain and helps prevent skin infections in minor wounds.  It is free from antibiotics and is a maximum strength over-the-counter antiseptic that contains Lidocaine. Retail cost: $7.99 (1 oz) or $14.99 (2 oz).

Licefreee Everyday Shampoo - replaces your everyday shampoo and helps prevent head lice infestation. It is made from a homeopathic formula that contains naturally occurring ingredients to create an environment where head lice do not like to live. It can be used after treating head lice to prevent a recurring infestation, on other family members to help prevent spreading, when notified of a lice outbreak at school, or if you are exposed to someone who has head lice.   Retail price: $11.99.

You can find out more about lice treatment and prevention through the Keeping Kids Lice Free campaign.

Review: Luckily, I have not had the need to use Licefreee or Tecnu. I will say that I am glad to have them on hand, however. With the kids currently out of school, I am not too worried about lice but I love that there is a preventative product available. Should I be alerted of a lice problem at school, I think it is great to have this product available. Likewise, it is also nice that Tecnu offers preventative and symptom care.

I did have the chance to try StaphAseptic after my son, Jackson, fell and scraped his elbow. He was complaining about the sting of the fall and was very happy with the cooling, instant relief he received from the product. He was a bit upset that it had to be applied by hand rather than sprayed on because he was afraid that I would hurt him if I touched the sensitive area. Once he got past the application, he felt better.  It was really easy to apply and was as easy as rubbing in liquid on the skin.
