Foodie Friday: Jacob Bromwell Review and GIVEAWAY!! **ENDED**

Jacob Bromwell is an iconic American company recognized as America’s oldest cookware.  The company, which has been in business for over 192 years,  manufactures authentic campfire, kitchen, and fireplace products. Their timeless designs have stood the test of time and are attractive to those who enjoy the nostalgia of less-modern products.

The Frontier Frying Pan is one of their best selling products. The old fashioned piece is a one-piece, heavy-gauge pan with an original tin handle. The handle is longer and designed to keep your hand cool while cooking.  It is handcrafted in the USA. It can be used on a traditional stove or can be used outdoors when camping or cooking out.  It is available in 6", 7", and 8" options.

Review: I received an 8" Frontier Frying Pan to review.  Since my kids eat eggs several times a week, I was excited to try this pan out.  We are used to the more modern, non-stick versions of pans, so this one did take a little bit to get used to. It required more oil than my other pans but I really loved the size. It was perfect for making omelets. It was also a nice light weight.   Forgetting that less modern cookware needs to be hand wash, I mistakenly put the pan in the dishwasher. It rusted after one wash. We were able to Brillo off the rust and clean it up good and I learned my lesson!

I can see how this pan would be perfect for outdoor cooking. The size and weight would make it perfect for packing for a camping trip. The 8" Frontier Frying Pan is available on the Jacob Bromwell website for $39.14.

Win it here: One lucky Cake Mom reader is going to win an 8" Frontier Frying Pan!

**Please read the rules**This is open to US residents only. You must complete the mandatory entry before completing optional entries. Each optional entry needs to be added as a separate comment. Comments that do not follow the rules will not count and will be deleted. PLEASE LEAVE ME YOUR EMAIL IN THE COMMENT if it is not visible in your public profile! One set of entries per household.

Mandatory Entry: Tell me another product from Jacob Bromwell you would like to own.

I was provided with the above mentioned product for the purpose of facilitating this review. No other compensation was received and the views expressed here are my own.

Hello! Thanks for making this contest available! I just started, the other night, looking into online "sweepstakes"/contests, as a way to earn a little revenue or prizes. However, I've been involved in the Blogosphere since 2002... I think that these types of giveaways may be even more-worthwhile - especially if you can add more entries, based on social media & Web2.0 methods!

Around the same time I started "sweeping" (a few days ago), I also started playing "The Oregon Trail" on Facebook! I figured that it wouldn't be too bad, or addicting, since it's something we used to play, when we were young! (We even did so in school.)

Boy, was I wrong! This game has been ultra-addicting; I hope that wears off soon!

I'm mentioning this, because The Oregon Trail (Facebook version) contains a lot neat items, themed from that time period (even moreso, than the computer game did... Then again, maybe newer versions of the software had some of these features!).

Upon going to the JasonBromwell site, I see it has an "olden-days"-type theme as well, for their products... Very-neat!! (The "Frontier Frying Pan" - from your blog entry here - should perhaps have been a clue.)

The home page of the site featured a banner-image and item that immediately caught my eye: Jacob's Popcorn Bowl!! ;-)

This is another issue that's recently been on mind... When running low on snack food last night, I was wanting to microwave a bag of popcorn. It's been so long since I've done that... Our old microwave (where I knew the exact time-settings) is gone, and I had tried, a few months ago, with the new one; It didn't work! Maybe I'll try tonight however; Popcorn does sound good! (Am having some corn chips w/ spinach dip right now... But we're almost out of those!)

Anyway: Thanks again, for hosting this giveaway! (I'll be Tweeting about this, next... ;-)

My e-mail address & contact info are available here.

(The other two blog-giveaway contests I just entered have a program ("Raffle..."-something), which allows users to enter their info, and it tracks the number of entries - and probably does the random-drawing for you, too!)

Aakash said...

...See my comment here (above).

I've just replied to a prior Tweet of mine from today, re: this topic (about being glad, to have discovered these blog giveaways! :-)

Here is my Tweet:

I will post another tomorrow. Thanks again, for hosting this!

Regarding my last comment here, 2 days ago (which contained a Tweet link, and was preceded my original comment here):

This morning, the official "The Oregon Trail" Twitter account ReTweeted that Tweet I did, about about this contest!

====> http://twitter.com/oregontrail/status/102034963838410752

(I think that may count, as an additional entry for me!)

I will try to do my own Tweet tomorrow. ("Tomorrow" starts in less than an hour, and I see it's the last day of this contest! :-)

[I also need to do item #7...]

Aakash said...

...And I just did #7 ("Liked" your Facebook Page!)

By the way: The link to my contact page, within my original comment (posted 2 days ago), was slightly off: This is the correct link.

Just in case, my addy is: uisconservative - at - yahoo

Thank you, once again, for hosting this contest!!

Aakash said...

...I've just posted two Tweets, linking to this contest page! The first is a reply, to The Oregon Trail's tweet. The next is a Tweet, with important hashtags (one of which will reach college students!).

http://twitter.com/AakashRaut/status/102285201144692736

http://twitter.com/AakashRaut/status/102286392951967744

Both of those Tweets also mention that today is the last day, for this giveaway! (Is the deadline midnight, by the way?)

Thanks so much! :-)

Aakash said...

...A correction, to the comment post above:

That first Tweet link is correct.
http://twitter.com/AakashRaut/status/102285201144692736

The second Tweet however, is now here:
http://twitter.com/AakashRaut/status/102289076207620096

(I had to delete it, and then repost.)

That second Tweet was also cross-posted (via Hootsuite) to Facebook.

Thanks!
