Foodie Friday: Girard's Salad Dressings Review and GIVEAWAY!!

Are you an epicurean? Are you asking “what the heck is an epicurean”? An epicurean is a food connoisseur, or as I like to say a “foodie”.  If you are a foodie, you may not only love food, you also appreciate all aspects of the meal. If this describes you, then you may be interested to learn about Girard’s Dressing varieties!

Girard’s Salad Dressing is proud to present four of their 17 varieties. Each variety has less sodium than before and some contain no high fructose corn syrup. To celebrate their dressings, I was lucky enough to receive an Epicurean Expert Kitchen Kit which contained the following:
Light Champagne Girard’s Dressing
Old Venice Italian Girard’s Dressing
While Balsamic Vinaigrette Girard’s Dressing
Greek Feta Vinaigrette Dressing
Cotton Twill Full-Length Embroidered Apron with Pockets
Eco-friendly Bamboo Wooden Utensil Kit
100% Natural Cotton Tote Bag
Stainless Steel Soap (to remove strong odors during food preparation)
Stainless Steel Recipe Card Holder
Girard’s Salad Dressing Recipe Booklet

Review:
  • The White Balsamic Vinaigrette is really delicious. I really enjoy vinaigrette dressings and actually found that I preferred this to a classic version as it was a bit less tart. It was not overpowering at all and works great with a house salad.
  • I am usually not a huge fan of Italian dressings, so I was quite surprised that I liked the Old Venice Italian. Typically, Italian dressings are just far too oily but there was a perfect blend of spices and the dressing was a great consistency and very flavorful.
  • The Light Champagne was a bit too tart for me. I used it on a regular salad, but I am guessing this dressing would be more appealing to me in a recipe (which gives me motivation to try some of the recipes they sent).
  • The taste of the Greek Feta is really strong. You would definitely only require a minimal amount of this dressing on a typical salad.
I have been out of town off and on for the past few weeks so I have not been able to cook with the dressings yet, but am looking forward to doing so. My only complaint was the caps to the dressings. Two of the four caps broke in the exact same way when I unscrewed them. Consequently, the dressings would not then seal properly and I am not sure if this will be problematic or not for refrigerator storage.
