Mega Bloks Review and GIVEAWAY!!

My son is already starting to take after my husband. He loves to put things together and is quite good at it. He has been playing with building blocks since he was a baby and over the past couple of years has enjoyed working collaboratively with my husband to build complicated and amazing block designs. Although he is typically attracted to the huge, and quite frankly, expensive Lego sets, I have been trying to find him some sets that are easier for him to put together by himself and are easier on my budget! Enter Mega Bloks.

Mega Bloks offer a great assortment of building block sets for kids of all ages.  Their Blok Squad buildable playsets introduce kids to everyday heroes with themes such as fire patrol, police, and construction. Blok Squad is perfect for kids, ages 5 and up, who have transitioned from mini blocks to micro blocks and are ready for more detailed builds.

Review: Since my son is as fascinated with police squads as he is building blocks, the Police Force Pursuit kit seemed like a perfect fit for him. It is ideal for ages 5 and up (he is 8).  The set features 3 patrol vehicles: Police Cruiser SUV, Police Force Carrier, and Police Boat. The 391 piece set also includes 3 Police Officers.

Jack was really excited about the set because he has really been into police officers lately. He was able to put a significant amount of the set together without help. He did, however, have a really hard time putting together the people. The heads were a hard rubber and you really had to push hard to get the heads onto the body. The good part is they don't easily fall off like Legos sometimes do, the bad part is it takes a bit of patience getting it together. The actual blocks went together with no problem. The visual directions were very clear and easy to follow and the results were fabulous looking police vehicles!

Win it here: One lucky Cake Mom reader is going to win a Mega Bloks Police Force Pursuit set!
