Next year, both of my children will be in school uniforms. Yippee! This year my daughter, who just so happens to be the "stain queen" gets to wear regular clothes to school. I will be honest, I love to dress her up. However, clothes, particularly those that stain after 1-2 wears, are expensive! As much as I would love to shop for her clothes at the mall, it is just not worth it. T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are great alternatives. They sell brand name clothes at reasonable prices. Now you kids can look good and you will feel good about the prices.
About T.J. Maxx & Marshalls
Both stores offer high-quality apparel for kids, teens, and adults. The fashions are from this season and they are what you can typically find at the mall, only their prices are 20-60% lower! The buyers for the stores are fashion experts and they make their purchasing decisions based on current fashion trends. The stores receive over 10,000 new items every week which means you could shop there several times a month and still find new, great stuff.
Mom Central Consulting & T.J. Maxx Survey

My T.J. Maxx Experience
I set out to my local T.J. Maxx with a $50 budget knowing I needed to get my daughter something she could wear for picture day and also knowing she needed a jacket. Knowing that a jacket alone could easily cost $50 or more, I went doubting that I would be able to stay within budget. There was quite a selection of clothes to choose from and, yes, the styles were current! The prices were also great, especially on their jackets. I was absolutely thrilled when I was able to buy a sweater vest, an undershirt, and a jacket. My total (thanks to tax-free clothing purchases in Pennsylvania): $45.97!! I was thrilled!
My experience at the store was generally positive. If you have ever shopped at T.J. Maxx or Marshalls before, then you know that you need to set out a bit of time to shop. The clothing is origanized by departments and sizes, but styles are all mixed in together on one rack so you need to dig a bit to find styles. There are occasionally trends located on end-caps or on display in another way (which is where I found the coat and sweater vest). The digging, however, is well worth the bargains and I would definitely recommend T.J. Maxx for your back to school shopping fashion needs.
