Pump It Up, the country’s premier hassle-free children’s birthday party place is working in conjunction with the debut of Happy Feet Two: The Video game to encourage families to get active and have fun together. As part of this, they are hosting a video contest for kids and families beginning November 1st to show off their “Happy Feet” by dancing, jumping, playing or doing any other physical activity on their Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/PumpItUpParty. Playing the game: The point of the game is to dance to save the colony. You try to recruit as many fellow penguins as you can to help save the penguin colony from extinction. As you play, you have to collect a target number of penguins in each level to complete the level. Common moves include dancing, stomping, jumping, and clapping. As you progress through the game, you collect music notes that can be used to build your songs playlist. Throughout the levels, you will encounter seals who will block your way. There are also boards for boss battles and sliding raceways.
Review: My kids did enjoy playing the game. My 8 year old son found it to be quite easy, but my daughter (6) struggled a bit with some of the moves in the game. Like any game, she improved as she played more and more. The game can be played in a collaborative fashion, but my kids are naturally competitive and were fighting a bit over who could get the most penguins to follow them. They are only a couple boards into the game but having a pretty good time. It got both of them excited about the movie which is great since they game came with a free movie ticket!!
