I hate to exercise, but I LOVE to dance which is why I was totally excited to have the opportunity to review Zumba fitness 2 for the Wii. The game features a total of 32 tracks and the workouts are designed by Zumba instructors Tanya Beardsley, Gina Grant and Beto. You get to learn 20 different dance styles across routines, from dances like Merengue, Samba and Cumbia to new additions like Axe, Indian, Latin Pop, Bellydance and Pasodoble. There are five different game modes: Single Song, Zumba Class, Zumba Party, and Learn the Steps.
The game includes a workout belt which allows you to attach your remote to your hip so you can really focus on the routines without having to worry about holding the remote correctly.
Review: I have been interested in trying Zumba for some time. I have other dance games for the Wii, but I am a pretty good dancer and have not found the other games challenging enough for me. This game, however, is amazing. It is a great work out (and reminded me how out of shape I am) and tons of fun. The moves are challenging, yet doable. I love that you get to wear the Wii remote on a belt which lessens the distraction of having a remote in your hand. I do find that my entire body aches (in a good way) the day after a workout. I can't believe how many muscles you use! Personally, it foes not even feel like exercise, it just feels like a ton of fun. The only thing I do not like is that when you are doing really well the screen starts to flash as a way of reinforcing you, but I find it a bit distracting.
I have been playing this game several times a week and I am already noticing my core strengthening and my legs looking slimmer. This definitely receives my seal of approval!
