Easter Themed Birthday Cake

My aunt's birthday is being celebrated this Easter Sunday so she asked me if I could make her an birthday cake.

Of course, I chose an Easter theme. I did cheat a bit by using some non-edible Easter eggs on the top but I had to work all week and sometimes shortcuts are a lifesaver! It was a marble cake with raspberry filling.

I used fondant for the egg that says "Happy Birthday" on it as well as the fence.  I had a cutting mat that helped me make the fence pieces pretty uniform.
I used Wilton tip 233 to make the grass on the top of the cake. It is really time consuming but a great technique because you don't have to be perfect. It can be different lengths and different strokes make it look even more realistic!

I threw a few drop flowers, an edible butterfly and some jelly beans on it to help decorate it and hide some imperfections and it was done!

Happy Easter everyone!
