The Daily Feast: Everyday Meals We Love to Share Review and GIVEAWAY!!

The Daily Feast: Everyday Meals We Love to Share is a collection of recipes that won their way onto the Graber families' tables. The Graber family consists of five daughters, each an artist, each an outstanding cook, their mother, and their sister-in-law who are also amazing cooks. In the cookbook, each of the 7 Graber cooks presents 3 complete menus - one for a soup meal, the second for a family week-night supper, and the third for a more elaborate guest dinner.  In addition, the Grabers offer menus and recipes for their favorite special-occasion meals. Full-color photography shows the women preparing the meals, as well as the finished meals.

Review:  As you may have read, I have been teaching my children how to cook and every Sunday they take turns preparing an entire meal plus a dessert. My son looked through the book and immediately found the Grilled Italian Shrimp Skewer recipe and knew he had to look no further!

The directions were very easy to read and there was an option for cooking in the oven or on the grill. The shrimp was absolutely delicious, like something we would get in a restaurant! It took only minutes to prepare (though the shrimp had to soak in the coating for 30 minutes) and then minutes to cook so it was perfect for a busy weekend.

The book is great. I love the pictures throughout the book because, quite honestly, this is the way we typically choose between new recipes.  The book is organized by contributor and it is neat to have the recipes grouped into complete meals. There is also an index in the back where you can better search for specific meals.  We have already chosen another recipe to try (Strawberry Pie, yum!) so I am sure you will see some more of my children's creations on my Kids Can Cook Too Challenge posts thanks to this great book!
