Dieticians and doctors have been promoting the health benefits of seafood for some time now. However, Americans, who are often on-the-go often don't have the time to prepare the recommended number of seafood meals a week. StarKist is working hard to deliver their popular seafood products in the most convenient way possible. Previously available only in a can, they now offer their products in a single serve pouch!
Review: I was given a selection of StarKist products in single serving pouches to try. The pouches are not only a more convenient way to pack tuna for work, it is also much easier to store the packets as opposed to the cans. The taste is the same great tuna and albacore that I have become accustomed to and perhaps even slightly better as I have eaten tuna straight from the can and it had a bit of a tinny taste because of the metal. They also offer tuna salad in a pouch which is great because I was able to pack two pieces of bread and not have to worry about the tuna soaking into the bread or having to refrigerate it because I could make the sandwich right at my desk. Having tuna contained in a pouch just makes sense and I may never go back to tuna in a can again!

Hungry Girl's Sweet & Spicy Tuna Tacos
PER SERVING (2 tacos): 224 calories, 6g fat, 577mg sodium, 28g carbs, 3g fiber, 6g sugars, 15g protein
Ingredients:
One 4.5-oz. pouch StarKist Sweet & Spicy Tuna Creations®
1/4 cup salsa
4 corn taco shells (flat-bottomed shells, if available)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/4 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced tomato
2 tbsp. chopped cilantro
Directions:
In a medium bowl, mix Tuna Creations® and salsa.
Evenly fill shells with lettuce, Tuna Creations® mixture, onion, tomato, and cilantro. Yum!!

Hungry Girl's Tex-Mex Tuna Chopped Salad
PER SERVING (entire recipe): 348 calories, 11g fat, 705mg sodium, 28g carbs, 13g fiber, 6g sugars, 39g protein
Ingredients:
4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1/2 cup halved grape tomatoes
1 pouch Starkist Hickory Smoked Tuna Creations®
1/2 cup chopped jicama
1/4 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
1 oz. chopped avocado (about 1/4 avocado)
Optional: fat-free ranch dressing
Directions:
Place lettuce in a large bowl. Top with tomatoes, tuna, jicama, black beans, and avocado. If you like, drizzle with dressing and toss to coat. Enjoy!
