Stim-U-Dent Review and Giveaway!

Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers are pliable, wooden cleaning tools with a patented triangular shape designed to fit between teeth and gently stimulate gums to fight gingivitis. They have been shown to work better than floss in reducing plaque, gingivitis and bleeding gums. Stim-U-Dent has beaten floss’ results in comparative clinical tests over the last 50 years; when used as directed, clinical studies support a 52% improvement in gum health. 

Stim-U-Dent is available in original size or thin (38% thinner). They are made from biodegradable basswood from managed forests. They absorb moisture and become flexible so they will not harm your teeth or cause them to shift and they have a mint flavor.  

Review:  If you are  someone who hates to floss and liked to use toothpicks, then you may find this to be a nice (and minty) alternative. They worked quite well and I found that they were a bit easier to use than a toothpick and definitely gentler on the gums.  The package is nice and compact and the pieces of Stim-U-Dent need pulled apart from each other (resulting in an occasional split piece).  I definitely prefer the thinner size which gets a bit deeper in between my teeth, but someone who has some gaps in between their teeth may prefer the regular size. This is definitely a viable alternative to flossing and is worth giving a try!
