Konsyl Review and Giveaway

A little weight loss trick I learned years ago was to eat foods high in fiber.  Psyllium fiber in particular can be very helpful because clinical studies have shown that 7 grams of soluble fiber from psyllium husk, taken daily as part of a heart healthy diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease by helping to lower cholesterol AND can help with weight management AND can help regulate constipation and diarrhea.

Review:  I received Konsyl Original formula to review.  The powder which can be added to non-carbonated drinks contains 100% pure natural psyillium fiber, contains no sugar or sugar substitutes, and is gluten free.  I have used other fiber supplements before but they have always seemed to upset my stomach rather than regulate it. Konsyl, on the other hand worked great and caused me no upset or gas. Hooray! I did find that when I used the product I naturally extended the time I eat lunch because I did not feel as hungry. 

The product is super thick (but tasteless) and because I tend to mix it and not drink the entire liquid right away I have to keep reshaking it to get it to redissolve. One time I had to leave my drink and attend a meeting and when I came back it actually formed some small formations of gelatin-like substance on the sides of my cup. After a couple of trials I learned that it is just better to mix and drink right away rather than letting your drink sit.  Aside from that I am quite happy with this product and would recommend it if you are looking for a way to increase your fiber intake.
