Polly Pocket Review

Polly Pocket has been around for many years and the commercial jingle may just start playing in your head the minute you read this post.  Despite the toy's popularity, my daughter has never owned a Polly Pocket set so I was happy to have the opportunity to review the Polly Pocket Hangout House Playset and Polly Pocket Stick 'n' Play Polly Game Room Playset.

Review: Bella's face when she opened the box and saw the Polly Pocket sets was priceless. She was absolutely thrilled over the pint-sized toy sets. She eagerly handed over the packages and I set myself up for an hour or more of frustration over untying tons of little pieces so I was thrilled when I realized that Polly Pocket even has parents in mind by creating easy-open packaging! There was a convenient tear back and each piece was secured with a minimal amount of plastic and rubber bands...no untying, cutting, swearing, etc!

The accessories to the sets had tiny suction cups on them so they would actually stick to the bases. I thought this was an extremely smart move.  Since we have dogs, my kids often grow frustrated by them bumping into them or the table they are playing on, destroying all their hard work.  The suctions were easy to apply and kept the tiny pieces in place while she played.

Both she and I loved how you can purchase additional supplemental sets that attach to the original playset. I was also amazed at how much detail went in to the teeny pieces, making them look realistic yet bright and colorful.
Look at the great detail on the tiny toy!
The dolls themselves are truly so small that you can "take them anywhere" but the sets have too many small pieces and I would be extremely reluctant to let Bella take them somewhere at risk of coming home with missing pieces.  It would be nice if larger playsets, like the Hangout House, had a way of closing in on itself so you could carry the set elsewhere.

So, what does Bella think of the Polly Pocket sets? "I love it! There are so many things to do. I like to decorate her house."
