BJ's Wholesale Club Giveaway and Gingerbread House Review
Making an annual gingerbread house has become a tradition the last two years and it is really fun to see the differences in creativity from year to year as my kids get older. My daughter loves any type of art and edible art is no exception! We were very excited to get the opportunity to work with BJ's Wholesale Club to make a Lyndon Reede Gingerbread House this year!
The gingerbread house has everything you need to create your own edible masterpiece - no baking required! The kit included gingerbread house walls and roof, tree cookies, pre-made icing white with tip, E-Z Build tray, pinwheel mints, jelly hearts, candy canes, and jelly beans. The set came in an adorable gingerbread shaped box that is so cute, I put it on display!
My daughter had a great time creating her house. My husband helped with the assembly, which was a little challenging because the walls kept wanting to move while it was crying. The tray certainly made it easier than trying to construct without, but it still required a couple of sets of hands to keep it still while it was drying. Once dried, they stuck together very well and we had no problems with any of the pieces falling apart. In fact, we really had to pry it apart to eat it. There was plenty of icing and we ended up needing only about 1/2 of the bag so there is definitely enough to ice the roof completely if you would so choose. The different candies were fun and colorful and it was even more fun to dig through the cupboards to see what else we could use (though there was enough candy in the kit and this is not necessary). She ended up adding coconut flakes to look like snow and some chocolate chips to the tree. After putting the house on display for a couple of days, we let ourselves indulge and it was really good! This is definitely a great kit and I would recommend trying it out.
