S'mores: the Card Game Review & Giveaway!

Now that the holiday rush is over, my family has re-instituted "Family Game Night".  My children are 7 and 9 and we are always on the lookout for fun family games to play together. The objective of S'mores: the Card Game is to build a S'more with your cards before your opponents. Five cards are dealt to each player and the players have a choice of taking a card from the deck and discarding one or can ask any player to fan their cards and pick a card from their deck to replace with one of yours. The first person to have all the ingredients to make a S'more wins the game.  The S’more card game includes 70, 3 x 5” sturdy playing cards and is printed with Soy-Based Ink on Recycled Paper.

Review: My kids and I had a nice time playing and both of my kids thought it was a lot of fun. The directions were clear, but I still was a little confused because the game has a point value system in case there is a tie, but I really can't see there really being a tie. There is a smart phone scanner on the package "to see Smores in action" but it only takes you to the website. I was hoping to actually see a video of the game being played.

The game definitely worked better with more people playing because when it was just two of us we ended up taking the same card back and forth when we "fanned out" the cards rather than picking from the deck.  It is a very nice, quick game so you can play a number of rounds on any given evening.  Overall, my kids liked it a lot and I enjoyed playing a simple game that was fun but did not require too much thinking after a tiring work day. The S'mores game is definitely being added to our "Family Game Night" collection!
